UNIVERSAL ORLANDO RESORT - Universal Orlando Resorts annual cap to the
Holiday Season known as "EVE" is right around the corner. The hard
ticket event takes place at CityWalk each year and is one of the largest New Year’s
Eve parties in the world. This year is expected to be no different.
However, given UOR's propensity to close earlier than all other Central
Florida parks, it’s no surprise that the EVE event will not go until the stroke
of midnight this year. We reached out to Universal for comment about a reason
for the change and Operations Director Gegard Duttles provided a concise
answer.
“Monsters” states Duttles.
“I started with UOR back in late September and upon starting observed that
every day starting around 6:30PM the entire resort is overrun with monsters”.
We at RPN tried to assure Duttles that this was all just costumed characters
for the annual Halloween Horror Nights but we didn’t appear to be making any
impact on his assurance that the monsters were real. “I’ve seen it with my own
eyes, man!” A clearly distraught Operations Director continued. “Abominations
straight out of your worst nightmares! It’s our obligation to keep our guests
safe. It seems that one guy in the creative department is the only one who can
get through to these creatures, only because he’s not doing anything else
during the Halloween season and he’s too busy with other stuff during the
holidays to help out. So it’s in our best interest to just close the park as
early as possible every day before sundown.”
The hard ticket event will feature live performances from 3 different
Journey cover bands and will run from 9am to 6pm on December 31st.
