HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS, WALT DISNEY WORLD – Fewer things are as exciting in the world of theme parks than the progress of Star Wars Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park. Although some residents of the studios are not so sure of the how the quality of the land will reflect upon opening in comparison to the concept art released.
Intergalactic Space Ranger, Buzz Lightyear, has recently
underwent a similar upgrade to his dwellings along the lines what has been promised
for the residents of the Star Wars universe in the upcoming “Galaxy’s Edge”
expansion of the park. However, as Buzz notes, what is presented in concept
doesn’t always make it to the real world. “I understand that budget cuts are inevitable.
We were supposed to have a slew of retail and dining experiences that everyone
was excited about. Extra “scenes” in slinky Dog’s ride. And let’s not even
mention the fact that zero shaded or indoor spots were included. All I’m saying
is, keep your expectations in check.”
Although some of the key concept features will be dearly
missed in Toy Story Land, Buzz does agree that it’s not all bad. “Well, at
least we got tater tots…..potato barrels?....no, I refuse to call them that.
They’re tater tots. You can’t “Fancy-up” tater tots, Ok? Call them by their
name."
