EPCOT, WALT DISNEY WORLD - Disney fans were heartbroken this week to learn that Buzzy, the star of Epcot’s former attraction “Cranium Command,” still exists and was stolen. The news came as a shock to many as questions began to rise, such as how the figure was stolen and why it was still even around.
Buzzy served as the star of the animatronic-based show about the human brain from 1989-2007, and has apparently remained untouched for 11 years. The long-neglected figure of Buzzy has gone mostly forgotten and out of discussion until reports that it has been stolen from its sad, abandoned theater where it was serving no one and might as well have not been there at all.
RPN asked for readers to contribute their thoughts and memories of the apparently beloved Buzzy. Francis Gunderson of Boise, ID said, “I think I saw the show once or twice. I don’t really remember. I can’t believe someone would do this to my favorite character!”
Dave Porter of Little Rock, AR said, “The fact that someone stole Buzzy breaks my heart. I can’t stand the thought of him being displayed in someone’s home. He must be found and returned to his dark, empty theater so he can be forgotten by his loving fans like he was meant to be. #SaveBuzzy”
There are currently no leads on Buzzy’s whereabouts, but many suspect he may be in Sal’s Amusement Salvage. Rescue attempts should proceed with extreme caution.
