WALT DISNEY WORLD - As you may already know, Walt Disney World recently pushed a removal of one-time use plastics across all WDW parks and resorts. Disney has estimated that since these efforts have been implemented they have single-handedly saved the environment. Species of animals previously thought to be extinct are beginning to re-emerge and top Disney environmental scientists are quoted as saying the ozone layer is "Pretty chill now".
To commemorate this great success, Disney is releasing a plastic popcorn bucket for guest who want to earmark the occasion. These are similar to the standard cylindrical popcorn buckets that are popular with guests that "Want a good bit of popcorn to eat, but don't want to carry around a 3 foot tall AT-AT just to get it".
We reached out to the Disney environmental team about concerns of the amount of plastic that is required to create these buckets versus the one-time use plastics. "We're sure it's fine. The team is counting on guests keeping these forever and not just throwing them in the trash like most parents do with the other buckets when their kids get tired of carrying it around..........uh oh."
The popcorn bucket will sell for $12.99 and will be made available along with a new free-range organic non-gmo air popped oil-less gluten free Popcorn option at all Popcorn carts on WDW property.
