DISNEYLAND - It has been about two and a half weeks since Disneyland opened its most recent expansion, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The new, highly detailed land is the largest single expansion in the original Disneyland Park’s history and only the latest blatant ploy by Disney to entice people to visit its park.
It’s plainly obvious to anyone who is paying attention that Disney specifically chose to theme its new land to the long-standing Star Wars franchise because it has a large fan base across all demographics. I for one couldn’t be more disgusted with this horrifying stunt. To think that Disney would design and build truly immersive environments and groundbreaking, legitimately thrilling attractions just to fool average, everyday people into making a special trip to experience their wildest dreams in a totally tangible, realistic way honestly makes me sick.
From the looks of it, the Mouse House shows no signs of stopping. A copy of the themed land is scheduled to open in Florida at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in August.
Universal Orlando isn’t without blame either. They intentionally made the most recent Henry Porter themed ride objectively breathtaking just so it would look like thousands upon thousands of people would want to ride it at the first possible opportunity. The fact that they would create an experience that would draw such large crowds as to overwhelm their park just shows their true colors. Is nothing sacred anymore?
These are the facts, dear readers. And the truth is ugly.
Special thanks to Theme Park University for breaking the original scoop on this story.
