UNIVERSAL ORLANDO RESORT - Florida's largest Christian music festival is about to get even bigger! The annual fest held at Universal Orlando Resort was recently moved to accommodate the extremely popular Halloween Horror nights which takes place in fest's prior timeline of early fall. With the removal of Celebration of Harry Potter "Rock The Universe" will now take place in late winter on February 1st and 2nd 2019.
The popular festival has been a staple in the christian music community. But even it's most devout followers have always had one gripe with Rock the Universe, in that it only rocks Universal Orlando Resort and not the actual entire universe as the name would suggest. This year, that all changes.
Universal PR made an announcement this morning that Rock the Universe 2019 will finally be broadcast to the entire known Universe. The big expansion comes with the help of SETI (the SEARCH for EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL INTELLIGENCE) Institute in Mountain View, California. "We're going to be utilizing the latest in extremely high-powered video and radio Broadcasting technology to help these artists spread their message of Christianity to the farthest reaches of the universe." States the press release from Universal.
SETI representatives are hopeful that this transmission may be helpful in identifying new life in the known contactable zone of transmission, but are not hopeful since there hasn't been much luck so far. "I mean, we've been trying this for decades and nobody's picked up the phone yet, so to hell with it" Spencer Reed (a SETI transmission technician) responded when we reached out for comment.
Spencer Continued " We are concerned a bit about an aggressive response should any extra terrestrial life encounter the music of Toby Mac. But the good news is that the closest known exoplanet capable of housing terrestrial life wont receive the signal for 5 years. Luckily due to the nature of Christian music, it will still be relevant somehow in the genre even if it takes 400 years."
